Doesn’t it make your mouth water to see those big bikes that Paul, Sr. and his cohorts build in Orange County Choppers? But of course it would be too expensive to have them build you your own bike, right? Don’t sulk. There are chopper mini bikes that are available for you.

Oh sure, they are smaller. But these chopper mini bikes are very promising. They have the sleek and authentic build of its bigger counterpart. It is only scaled-down to a size that looks like it fits a child aged 12. It can support weights of up to 200 pounds. And it also can go for up to 10 miles in a single charge. Some testimonies say that the chopper mini bike can go up to 15 miles per hour. That’s power packed in something so tiny.

These bikes are powered by the same motor that powers ATVs or small motorcycles. These motors allow you to go in a variety of speeds. Some of the bikes also have a CVT, Continuously Variable Transmission or a torque converter. This is much like an automatic transmission that allows changes in gear ratio in accordance to the speed the engine is going in.

The rims these babies use are commonly bicycle or moped rims. The front tires are larger than the rear pneumatic tires. The rear wheel uses either a live or a dead axle.
The live axle is more commonly used in these bikes. Here, the axle spins along with the wheel and other parts connected to it. A dead axle on the other hand is not common among chopper mini bikes. This is when the axle does not spin along with the other parts. It has bearings that allow the wheel to spin.

Of course there are available builders that make custom parts for these rides. They can customize gas tanks and other parts of the mini chopper bikes. This is after all, what choppers are made for.
